Viola Nambi who plies her trade with Dornbirn in Austria scored twice for the East Africans.

Fauzia Najjemba and Rita Kivumbi who are also foreign based, playing at BIIK Shymkent and Mallbackens IF in Kazakhstan and Sweden respectively added a goal each before second half substitute Fazila Ikwaput made it 5-0.

Kivumbi broke the deadlock in the 37th minute before Nambi and Najjemba fired home in quick succession to give Uganda a comfortable 3-0 lead heading into the break.

The dominance continued even after recess with Nambi getting Uganda’s fourth and her second on the day in the 57th minute.

Coach Lutalo rang changes bringing on Ikwaput, Lillian Mutuuzo and Phiona Nabbumba for Najjemba, Nambi and Hasifah Nassuna in that order.

There were further changes with Sheebah Zalwango and Sandra Nabweteme replacing Shamirah Nalugya and Kivumbi respectively.

By winning by such a margin against the Copper Queens, the Crested Cranes probably, left Granda Stade de Marrakesh with oozing confidence ahead of their Group A game against Senegal on July 3rd in Rabat.

The same group has hosts Morocco and Burkina Faso who will face off a day earlier in the opening game of the tournament.
