The National Unity Platform (NUP) party Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya has been reportedly arrested.

According to a message posted on his official social media handles, Rubongoya, together with his driver, Agaba Gordon, were allegedly first arrested Wednesday morning at around Wandegeya on their way to court.

“A traffic officer stopped us and claimed that my car was wanted on allegations of having committed a crime during the recently concluded by-election in Omoro.

We were briefly arrested at Wandegeya Police station and later I was released and proceeded to attend Hon Ssegirinya and Sewanyana’s court,” reads the post in part.”

“However Gordon was later driven to Natete Police Station for reasons best known to the police. After court I passed by Natete Police Station to follow up and surprisingly, I’ve also been re-arrested,” it adds.
