Micho describes Cranes attitude on first day in training as ‘brilliant’ | 2023 AFCON Qualifiers

Uganda Cranes commenced Monday preparations for the two 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying matches with a residential camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisasi.

Twenty two of the 33 players summoned by coach Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho took part in the first training sessions at Fast Fusion Indoor Facility and gym , Bugolobi and Kampala Quality playground.

Speaking after the training,Micho told Fufa official website that he had been impressed with the competition exhibited by the players and described the start as “brilliant’.

“I am very impressed by the commitment and character of the players in attendence. This is a great start ahead of our first game in the 2023 AFCON Qualifier. The fitness levels of these players is based on the successful completion of the league after two years of non sporting activities,” said Micho.

Micho promised to give chance to all players both local and foreign as ways of promoting capable and talented Ugandan players.

However, like he has done in most cases, the Serbian tactician invited to the team a number of players who were originally not named in the squad.

They include Ibrahim Juma ,Travis Mutyaba,Oscar Mawa , Emmanuel Kalyowa, Saidi Kyeyune and Denis Otim and all of them trained alongside the 22 players that reported to camp on the first day.
He was being assisted by Moses Basena and the goalkeeping coach, Fred Kajoba.
