Vipers give Cesar Manzoki’s injury update

Vipers SC have revealed that their leading striker Cesar Manzoki is out of danger and will be fine.

Manzoki was rushed to hospital on Tuesday after suffering an injury during a Stanbic Uganda Cup second leg game against Mbarara City at St Mary’s, Kitende.


“The Emperor is out of danger and will spend the night in the hospital, but it’s a precautionary measure. He will be fine,” the Vonoms media team tweeted.

Despite losing their top marksman in the first half of the match, Vipers smoothly cruised to the final after edging the Ankole Lions on a 6-1 aggregate.

Following a 0-0 first half, the hosts returned more energized and scored four times courtesy of Skipper Halid Lwalilwa, Milton Karisa, Yunus Sentamu and Bobosi Byaruhanga.

The holders had defeated Mbarara City 2-1 in the first leg of the semi-final played at Kakyeka, Mbarara.

Vipers will take on the winner between BUL and Booma whose second leg game takes place on Wednesday in Jinja.
