“In her complaint she clearly mentions the suspect and refutes the ongoing speculation in sections of the media that it was Andrew Mwenda,” Enanga said without devulging any details on the suspect.

The police PRO who thanked Sheeba for taking the courage to report the matter, assured the public that as ‘Uganda Police we take matters of Gender Based Violence seriously.’

He said a team of Detectives has commenced investigations on the matter to ensure justice for the Nkwataako singer.

Following Sheeba’s revelations that an influencial male figure in the government had indecently touched and attempted to rape her during a birthday party, social media users turned rowdy, wondering why she was not naming and shaming the man in question. Others even went ahead to describe her claims as a stunt aimed at drumming up more support for singer.

Basing on her descriptions of the man she alleged was being guarded by SFC soldiers, Sheeba’s followers used social media to attack Journalist Andrew Mwenda claiming he was the suspect.

However, the angry Mwenda denied the allegations and tasked the musician to come out and at least exonerate him if she wasn’t willing to reveal the name of the man who attempted to forcefully grab her goodies.
