The Rwandan President, Gen. Paul Kagame has visited Uganda for the first time since March 2018.
Kagame, who was received by Security Minister Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi and Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is expected to attend a state dinner hosted by his counterpart President Yoweri Museveni later today at State House, Entebbe.
The dinner is part of the several activities that have taken place in honour of the 48th birthday for First son and and Updf land forces commander.
Reports had suggested that Gen Kagame would join Muhoozi’s birthday social fete at Lugogo on Saturday. However, it’s understood that the plan later changed.
The visit follows a couple of trips made by Gen Muhoozi to Kigali early this year.
Gen Muhoozi, who’s commended for spearheading the journey to normalize relations between Uganda and Rwanda, Saturday said the two countries were now on good terms and that the situation would get even better.
To thank God for the achievement, Gen Muhoozi said it was prudent that he celebrated his birthday with the entire country.
The celebrations began a marathon at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds and later a social gathering at the Cricket Oval in Lugogo.
