The Crested Cranes of Uganda will not know their opponents of the TotalEnergies Morocco 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations until Friday April 29.
This is after Confederation of African football announced April 15th that they had rescheduled the draw from Monday 25,2022 to the new date.
The ceremony will be held at the Mohamed VI Complex in Rabat, Morocco at 20h30 GMT.
Uganda qualified for the 12 team tournament after her opponents Kenya were suspended by FIFA due to what the world football governing body termed as government interference.
Apart from Uganda, the tournament will attract holders Nigeria who booked their ticket for the continental showpiece after breezing past Côte d’Ivoire in the final round of the qualifiers as Morocco gained automatic spot as hosts.
Togo, Burundi and Botswana will make their debuts at this year’s finals slated to run from July 2nd to 23rd, while familiar teams like Cameroon and South Africa shall also take part in the competition.
Others are Senegal, Zambia, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Tunisia and Senegal.
The four semi finalists will represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand.
