Vipers have now collected 52 while KCCA follow with 45 after 22 games.

Yiga broke the deadlock at St Mary’s Stadium at the stroke of halftime before Karisa put the game out of reach for the visitors 20 minutes from time.

For Mbarara City, a 13th loss in 24 matches means they remain second from bottom with 19 points.

KCCA on the other hand, comfortably defeated army side UPDF 3-0 away at Bombo Barracks Ground to end their three-match winless run.

Sadat Anaku and Brian Aheebwa scored for the visitors, with Donato Okello adding an unfortunate own goal in between.

The win moves KCCA back to second place on the league table with 45 points, seven behind leaders Vipers SC.

UPDF remain ninth on the 16-team log with 27 points from 24 games.
