Express 2-2 KCCA

URA 0-0 Mbarara City

SC Villa’s woeful season continued as they fell to visitors Busoga United 1-0 on Thursday.

Forward Anwar Ntege’s header off Shaka Ssozi’s corner was just enough to give Abbey Bogere Kikomeko’s side maximum points.

This was Villa’s eighth defeat, dropping them to just a point above relegation.

For Busoga United, the victory at the Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru was their 6th of the season in 19 matches as they now have 20 points to temporarily move above the red line.

Villa, who have only collected 18 points in 19 games, make a short trip to Lugogo on March 12 to face second placed KCCA. The Kasasiro boys who themselves dropped two precious points against Express on match day 19, will be eager to register a win if they are to keep tabs on the summit of the 16 team log.

Martin Kizza and Joseph Akandwanaho scored for the Red Eagles, Julius Poloto (penalty) and Sadat Anaku had KCCA’s goals.

The 2-2 draw at Wankulukuku left KCCA on 40 points in second place, three points adrift from leaders Vipers.

Express is a distant 6th on 30 points.

Meanwhile, Mbarara City held Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to a goalless draw at the Kakyeka stadium.

URA remain third with 35 points whilst Mbarara City stay in the drop zone in the 14th place with 17 points.
