President Yoweri Museveni has finally signed the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Amendment Bill 2021 into law.
The President’s Senior Press Secretary, Lindah Nabusayi, confirmed this on Tuesday.
“The president has assented to the NSSF Bill as amended,”Linda Nabusayi said.
The development means NSSF savers above 45 years or at least those who have saved for 10 years will have mid-term access to their money.
The signing of the Bill, which was passed by the 10th Parliament in February, but returned by the President for reconsideration in September last year, was welcomed by workers.
“Indeed this is the gift of New Year 2022. God bless,” the chairman general of the National Organization of Trade Union, Usher Owere said in a tweet.
