Television star and emcee Edwin Katamba aka MC Kats is quitting Nbs Tv Sta Daily News has learnt.
According to sources,Kats signed a juicy deal with Uganda Aids Commission and other health organizations and he will be heading a campaign dubbed “End Aids By 2030.”
We have learnt that, “End Aids By 2030” organisers believe MC Kats’ popularity can help them reach as many Ugandans as possible after he publicly announced he was HIV positive in December 2019 while presenting at Wave Lounge.
It has also been established that of late, the celebrated city MC has been attending seminars, spreading the gospel on HIV/AIDS courtesy of Uganda Aids Commission.
Kats’ major work will be to sensitize masses on HIV/AIDS, sources have revealed.
Kats first appeared on tv as a teenager co-presenting Teens’ Club on the defunct WBS. He later joined NTV Uganda where he presented Xpozed show.
In April 2016, Kats crossed from Serena-based TV station and joined Nbs TV to host ‘After 5’ show with DJ Roja and DVJ Mercy Pro. They were later joined by Douglas Lwanga who also crossed from NTV.
On top of TV gigs, Kats has made dimes emceeing in bars, clubs and events.
Meanwhile, news which we are yet to independently verify suggest that Next Media, the company owning Nbs tv is about to replace Kats with upcoming musician and NTV Uganda presenter Crysto Panda.
