Ugandan forward Peter Lwasa scored and assisted Benson Omala as Gor Mahia beat Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 in a rescheduled Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) tie at Kasasani stadium on Wednesday.

Omala tapped in from close range to hand Gor Mahia a first half lead and a building block.

With ten minutes left on the clock, Lwasa who is an old boy of the Sharks, came back to haunt his ex- pay masters as he capitalized on a goalkeeping error from Obiero who was in a hurry to launch a counter. After a botched pass, Lwasa picked the ball and fired straight into the back of the net to confirm the three points for K’Ongalo.

And as a reward for his outstanding performance, the former URA FC player was given the man of the match honour.

The victory was a sweet one for the 19 time Kenya champions who were on a two-match losing run against Kariobangi Sharks.

After three games, Gor Mahia are now second in the table with nine points same as leaders Nairobi City Stars who have played a game more.

In the next fixture,Gor Mahia host Sofapaka on October 30,2021.
