At least two people are feared dead with several others injured after a suspected bomb attack hit Swift Safaris Bus Reg No UAU 989T at Lugala, Mpigi along Kampala- Masaka Road.
An eyewitness who was also a passenger in the same bus, said several other passengers escaped with injuries although other witnesses claim that two people had died on the spot.
The passenger thanked God for the driver who was able to park the bus at the side of the road safely. “This has just happened today 25/10/2021. Pray for our country” said the passenger who escaped unhurt.
Sozi Ben, a journalist operating in the same area told a local television that there was high security presence and part of the road sealed off.
He added that a heavy traffic jam is visible starting from as far as Kammengo which is about 10 miles from the crime scene.
The Incident comes barely two days after another explosion went off in Komamboga, Kampala leaving one person dead and others injured.
The Islamic State militant group on Sunday claimed to have carried out the attack though the Police say they are still carrying out investigations to conclusively know who did it.
