George Lutalo, the Uganda Crested Cranes Head Coach is optimistic his side will tomorrow beat Ethiopia and qualify for the next round of the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
The Ugandan women carry a 2-0 first leg advantage into Tuesday’s encounter. And hopefully for them, the two goals from Reticia Nabbosa and Fauzia Najjemba scored at St Mary’s stadium, Kitende last week will be a good start.
According to Lutalo, the team is in high spirits and during their last training session at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa, they showed readiness for the task at hand.
“The morale is good in camp and all the players are in good shape and we have no injuries. We expect the best results tomorrow,” Lutalo said.
The Coach named a squad of 20 players that travelled to Ethiopia with goal keeper Ruth Aturo leading the team as captain.
At the next level, the winner over two legs will face Kenya who eliminated South Sudan 15-1 on aggregate.
The next qualification round (third round) will be the final phase to determine the 12 teams that will take part at next year’s AWCON in Morocco.
