Yunus Sentamu marked his return to the Vipers team with four goals as Venoms hit Wakiso Giants for five in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Ceasor Manzoki scored the other goal of the match played at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Friday.

Sentamu put the home side in front just over ten minutes into the game before doubling the lead fourteen minutes later.

Moments later, Manzoki headed in Vipers’ third putting the game out of reach for the Purple Sharks.

In addition to trailing Vipers by 3-0, Wakiso was reduced to ten men after defender George Kaddu was sent off. This was after he received a second yellow following a reckless foul on Milton Karisa.

Thus, the hosts went into the break with not only a comfortable lead but also a man more.

In the second half, Sentamu, who is also the reigning league top scorer, continued from where he had stopped in the first 45 minutes.

His hat-trick came in the 62nd minute after a splendid crossing from Aziz Kayondo.

Sentamu later completed his quadruple on the day the visitors had little to write home about. Despite missing the first game, the striker currently leads the top scorers chart with four goals.

Wakiso Giants goalkeeper Samson Kirya was probably the luckiest man on the day despite swallowing five.

Why? Because he survived a red card not once but twice. First, for handling the ball outside his area and secondly, for denying a goal scoring opportunity when he fouled second half substitute Ibrahim Orit.

The custodian was only shown a yellow card for the latter offense.

Vipers are now top of the log with six points in two games while Wakiso continue to search for their first point of the season.

With seven goals scored and none conceded, Vipers coach Robertinho must be smiling.

However, his opposite number Douglas Bamweyana should be wondering if he can finally re-organise a side that has conceded eight and scored zero. Wakiso lost 3-0 to KCCA at home on the opening day.

Vipers take a trip to Wankulukuku to face Express on 30th October while Wakiso Giants will be on the road to Police FC on match day 3.

Elsewhere, Police FC suffered their second consecutive loss in the season. They were beaten by home side BUL 2-0 thanks to goals from Ibrahim Mugulusi and Richard Wandyanka.

At Kavumba, Dudu Ramadhan headed in the only goal of the match as visitors Onduparaka registered their first victory of the season.

And by losing 1-0 to Caterpillars, Soltilo Bright Stars too remain winless having suffered defeat to Mbarara City in the opening fixture.
