Rwanda coach Mashami says Wasps ready for Uganda challenge

After the game in Kigali, the two teams meet again at the St Mary's stadium in Kitende on October 10, 2021.


The Amavubi Stars of Rwanda take on Uganda Cranes on match-day 3 in Group E as both teams search for a ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Wasps host Uganda on Thursday(today), October 7, 2021 at the Kigali Stadium in a match that will start at 6pm local time. The Wasps will face Uganda under the tutelage of their former head coach Milutin Sredojevic “MICHO”. He was in charge of the side for three years before he was sacked.


Mashami Vincent, the current man at helm of the national team, said Wednesday that they were ready to face Uganda. He however described the game as “extraordinary. “

He went on to say that they will do their best to get the three points. —“we are looking to beat Uganda to get the first 3 points and we are better prepared than ever. Tomorrow[today] we will assure Rwandans that they will watch a good game on the Rwandan side and aim to win,”the coach said on Wednesday.

Similarly, team captain Niyonzima Haruna noted that the Wolves have many reasons to look forward to victory on Thursday. “We have a very strong game or is it a‘ derby ’as we like to say. It is a game that is of great value to us and we hope that we will do our best and come back victorious. “If we win this game we know we will go ahead of Uganda, so that’s what we’ve put so much emphasis on.”

After the game in Kigali, the two teams meet again at the St Mary’s stadium in Kitende on October 10, 2021.

Rwanda sit fourth on the table with one point while Uganda is third with two points.
Mali and Kenya which play against each other tonight are first and second with four and two points respectively.
