Leon Island star boss, Musician turned politician Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleon has revealed he has never left the National Resistance Movement (NRM)

In a video circulating on social media, the Bayuda tuyita nabo hit maker said he is a prodigal son in NRM who had gone astray but has since found his way back home.

“….. The greatest witness can be Mr. Toyota. My friend, I am still your family. I am still NRM. I am not anywhere….If you doubt that, put up your cameras and record that on me. I am still NRM..” He said in presence of NRM officials led by a one Michael Nuwagira also known as Toyota.

Celebrating his comeback, Chameleon was presented with a brand new Range Rover sport allegedly from President Museveni.

Chameleon was seen kneeling before he was brought up by  Toyota and his crew as they accepted him back to the family.

Mid 2020, the son of Mayanja was unveiled by the Democratic Party as their Chief mobilizer.

A few months later, the Befuula singer announced that he had joined National Unity Platform (NUP), a party led by his long time friend and fellow musician Bobi Wine real names Robert Kyagulanyi.

In no time, Chameleon showed interest in contesting for the Kampala Lord Mayorship on NUP ticket.

However, the party endorsed Nabilah Naggayi Ssempala something that rubbed Chameleon the wrong way and decided to stand as an independent candidate.

In race won by incumbent and FDC flag bearer Erias Lukwago, the singer came number three.
