FBL play-offs: Gaddafi, Proline to battle for last UPL berth

Either Gaddafi FC or Proline will Tuesday join Tooro United and Arua Hill as the three promoted teams to Uganda Premier League.


Gaddafi Football Club and Proline FC will on Tuesday August 17, 2021 tussle it out in the StarTimes Fufa Big League play offs final to determine the third and last team to join the Uganda Premier League next season.
This is after the two teams won their respective semi final games on Sunday at the Njeru Technical Centre.

In the first of the day’s fixture, Gaddafi emphatically washed off Nyamityobora with a 4-0 win.

Striker Ronald Bithum Nsumbiano led the way for the Soldier Boys scoring a brace while Mark Bamukyaye and James Otim added a goal apiece.

Proline on the other hand, had to come from a goal down to beat resilient Blacks Power FC 2-1 in the other game.

In a game of two halves, Blacks Power ended the first 45 minutes on top thanks to Paul Eria Emokori’s lone strike.

However, Proline returned stronger and scored twice through Brian Mato and Brian Umony.

The winner on Tuesday will join Arua Hill SC and Tooro United who by virtue of topping Elgon and Rwenzori groups respectively already earned promotion to the premium stage of club football in Uganda.
