National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi, has appointed his deputy in charge of Eastern Region, Hon.John Baptist Nambeshe as acting president for 3 weeks.
According to a letter dated June 20,2021 and addressed to Hon Nambeshe, Mr Kyagulanyi is moving out of the country on official duties.
“This is to inform you that the party president, Hon Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert has asked me to notify you that he has designated you as the Acting Party President for three weeks from June 20,2021 to July 10, 2021 while he is out of the country on official duties,” part of the letter said.
Sarah M.Muwonge the secretary to the president [Mr Kyagulanyi] added that, ” this appointment is made pursuant to Article 71(g) of the Party Constitution.”
Currently, Hon Nambeshe is the Chief Opposition Whip (COW) in Parliament and a legislator representing Manjiya County Bududa District.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Diploma in Local Government and Human Rights from Uganda Martyrs University.
Hon Nambeshe John Baptist was born on 25th November 1965 and he is a Christian in the Pentecostal church.
