The newly elected LCV chairperson for Kayunga District, Ffeffekka Sserubogo is dead.
Photos posted on social media show the body of the former Buganda Lukiiko member hanging on a tree.
The acting Mukono District Police Commander, Ms Hellen Kyomuhendo while speaking to journalists confirmed that indeed Sserubogo’s body was Wednesday morning found by his relatives hanging on a tree near his home.
By press time, police had cordoned off his home to establish the facts behind his death.
Although some of the locals said the chairman could have been hanged by yet to be identified criminals, others suspect he could have committed suicide.
Sserubogo, a member of the National Unity Platform (NUP) was last month sworn in as the new District Chairperson, replacing Mr Tom Sserwanga. To win the seat, he beat Andrew Muwongo of the NRM party, Thomas Muwanga, Boniface Musisi, Fred Ssemyalo, Patrick SSempijja and Dan Wabomba an Independent.
