Express’ Bbosa, Kambale announced May’s Upl best

Express FC’s Wasswa Bbosa and Erick Kambale have been awarded as Uganda Premier League’s best coach and player respectively for the month of May 2021.

The award ceremony took place at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala on Monday, 14 June 2021.


Bbosa beat Wakiso Giants’ Douglas Bamweyana and URA FC gaffer Sam Ssimbwa.

Kambale on the other hand, overcame stiff competition from URA’s striker Steven Mukwala and Wakiso Giants’ Viane Ssekajugo.

He scored 8 goals and won two pilsner man of the match accolades.

Express won all the five league games played in May.

“This award has been long overdue. I believe I could have won it long time. I want to thank my fellow technical committee members, management, players and the fans for the collective effort. This is motivation as we look towards the final bend in the season,’ Bbosa told the media on Monday.

Kambale was delighted too.
“It is a big honour to win the Pilsner player of the month of May. I want to thank my fellow players, coaches for pushing me.”

The duo were on top of the accolades, presented with dummy cheques worth Shillings 1,000,000 courtesy of sponsors Pilsner.
