Ibrahim Nsimbe hit the net three times as MYDA FC earned a 3-0 home victory over Busoga United FC in a Uganda Premier League game played on Friday, May 15, 2021.
Nsimbe’s hat-trick didn’t only give MYDA their 3rd win of the season and hope that they can stay in the top-flight but also saw him increase his tally to 10 goals and consolidated his place as the team’s season top scorer.
Despite pressing hard early into the game, Busoga United ended the first half 2-0.
Nsimbe, against the run of play put the Tororo based side ahead on 21 minutes.
Busoga could have levelled matters seven minutes later but squandered the opportunity as Sharif Kimbowa missed a penalty.
Moments before the half time whistle, Nsimbe doubled the hosts’ lead.
Few minutes after resumption, Edrine Opaala and Isaac Wagoina replaced Elvis Ngonde and Joseph Opolot respectively. However, things remained more of the same for the visitors.
As the visitors pushed hard for at least a consolation, boom! It then turned from bad to worse as Nsimbe struck his third and it was literally game over for Busoga United.
The victory saw MYDA’s point tally rise to 14 but remain second from bottom with six games to close the campaign.
For Busoga, they stay in 13th with 26 points, six above the relegation zone.
In their next fixtures, Busoga United host Express FC on Tuesday while MYDA travel to fellow league debutants Kitara FC on the same day.
