Reports indicate that Karimojong cattle rustlers Thursday evening raided the farm of the chairman of the army General Court Martial Gen. Andrew Guti and snatched over 130 livestock.

According to sources, the incident happened a few hours after a peace meeting between the three Karimojong clans, the Matheniko of Moroto, Jie of Kotido, Bokora of Napak and Turkana of Kenya which was held in Naitakwae ground in Moroto Municipality.

It’s said that the Local Defence Unit personnel guarding the General’s farm had all fallen asleep due to a heavy downpour and thus, the rustlers took advantage of the situation.

Major Peter Mugisa the UPDF 3rddivision spokesperson Friday afternoon confirmed the raid but revealed so far 100 animals had been recovered from Kautakou village as the rustlers headed to Moroto District.
