Uganda Police makes over 250 transfers, appointments

Major General Paul Lokech, the Deputy Inspector General of the Uganda Police Force has transferred and appointed 254 senior police officers to various positions.

According to an internal memo issued by Gen Lokech over the weekend, Commissioner of Police (CP) Paul Kato Tumuhimbise was appointed to deputise AIGP Grace Akullo at the Criminal Investigations Directorate – CID headquarters in Kibuli.
Kato has been working under Jesse Kamunanwire in the Human Resource Management Directorate.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Esther Akwango has been recalled from Kenya’s capital Nairobi where she’s been serving as police attaché, to take up an appointment as the Ssezibwa Regional Police Commander(RPC).

SP Alex Ojok Jimmy from Counter-Terrorism has been moved to HRM at police headquarters, SP Katumba Christopher Kiggundu from Environmental Protection Police Unit has been moved to Chief Political Commissariat headed by AIGP Asan Kasingye.

ACP Deo Obura was transferred to Kampala Metropolitan, East to serve as RPC – a similar posting he held while serving in the Albertine region.

SSP Damali Nachuha was moved from Counter-Terrorism to Aswa region as RPC.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rose Nahyuha has been moved from Women Affairs where she has been serving as Acting Commissioner and appointed administrator in the Human resource management.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Alex Mwine Mukono who is most by remembered by many for dispersing catholic clerics during a Mbogo clan meeting in Mityana, last year has been transferred from HRM to the Human Resource development Directorate under AIGP Godfrey Golooba.

SP Slivia Auma has henceforth become the new Women Affairs acting Commissioner, an office, which is directly under the deputy IGP.

Elsewhere, SP Richard Senyondo has been moved from the directorate of ICT and will now serve as the new commandant of Police Mineral Protection Unit.

SP Alfred Bangambaki has been moved from Anti-Stock Theft Unit to Bukedi North as RPC, SP Vincent Mwesigwa from Ssezibwa to Albertine as RPC, SP Kidima from Rwizi to HRM police headquarters.
