Lady Doves will have a chance to revenge the 2018/19 loss against UCU Lady Cardinals when the two sides meet on Wednesday, 5th May, 2021 in yet another final of the Fufa Women Super League.
This is after both teams Monday registered 1-0 identical victories over their opponents in the semi finals.
Lady Doves were the first team to earn a place at in the final after eliminating Kawempe Muslim by a Reticia Nabbosa sublime solitary goal.
They were however unfortunately lost their lead striker and top scorer Fazila Ikwaput to injury. She was stretchered off with a knee injury sustained early in the game and will, most probably be out of the final.
On the other hand, UCU defeated Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga in the second semi-final played at noon thanks to Jauhara Nabaggala’s 14th minute strike.
Like in 2019 at Lugogo, captain Hasifa Nassuna will be expected to lead by example and make sure the University team leave the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru victorious.
Meanwhile, the game on May 5th won’t be just a repeat of the 2018/19 climax but also another meeting by the two sides in this campaign.
They faced each other in the group stages and Lady Doves won the encounter 2-1.
Despite going infront courtesy of a Hasifa Nassuna penalty kick, UCU saw Ikwaput score twice to hand her side the bragging rights.
The winner on Wednesday will represent Uganda in CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for the inaugural edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
