Powerlifter Mubiru gearing up for WPA Championships

The Ugandan will compete in the 125 kg heavyweight category age group 40/44 years, masters raw tested deadlift squat bech press.

Uganda’s powerlifting champion Roy Mubiru will April 17,2021 be in action on deck in the World Powerlifting Association (WPA) sactioned powerlifting championship.

According to his manager Frank Kaheesi, Mubiru has for some time been conducting vigorous but scientific drills due to restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Ugandan will compete in the 125 kg heavyweight category age group 40/44 years, masters raw tested deadlift squat bech press.
“Am taking part in championships to be held in Connecticut,” Mubiru revealed in an online interview.

He also revealed he targets to lift 2000kg in all the three styles which include deadlift,squat and bech press.

The American Powerlifting Championships
will be run in multiple locations simultaneously due to varying states travel restrictions and Covid-19 policy differences.
Among the locations will be Clinton, Missouri – Oakville, Connecticut, and West Virgina, will double as Qualifier to World Cup of powerlifting Quebec Canada 2021.

Mubiru missed the WPA Poland world powerlifting Championships due to lack of fiancial support and covid19 Pandemic restrictions.

The US based Ugandan won gold after lifting a total of 150kg at the 2020 World Powerlifting Association (WPA) World championship held at Steel Beach Gym, Oakville Connecticut in the United States of America.
