Vipers SC begin their Uganda Cup campaign this season by hosting Jinja based club Busoga United FC today at the St Mary’s stadium in Kitende.

This year’s edition of Stanbic uganda cup is different from past editions because teams will be begin playing at the round of 32. Only Uganda Premier and Fufa Big League teams are going to participate in this year’s edition due to coronavirus pandemic.

Vipers head into this encounter after a 3-0 league win against UPDF FC whilst Busoga United also won their last game against Onduparaka.

Busoga United FC are in good run .They have won their last four games in the league.

Vipers will need to avoid the humiliation they suffered at the same stage in the last edition of the cup after being ejected by Buganda Regional side Kajjansi United.
And coach Fred Kajoba is aware of the task ahead of his team.

“We are happy the boys started the week well but we cannot rest because we have another task before us to complete.”

“This game will not be that easy, we beat them last December but a lot has changed in their team – they are good going forward and can be dangerous sometimes. So, we have to come hungrier and tougher than we did last time.”

“We are happy all our players who have been injured for sometime are back and ready to play. Hopefully their return is timely and will boast the squad’s confidence as we continue the season,” Kajoba told the club website.

The hosts will look for inspiration in Manzoki Ceaser, Paul Mucureezi, Ibrahim Orit and Disan Galiwango while the visitors will rely on Captain George Kasonko and Isma Mugulusi.

Vipers will miss the services of their defender Livingston Mulondo however they will be boosted by the return of Bobosi Byaruhanga and  Denis Kiggundu from injury.

The Visitors will miss the services of Ali Kimera and Sharif Kimbowa in today’s game.
