Nabweteme signs maiden professional contract in Europe


Sandrah Nabweteme has signed for lceland women football team Thor/Ka. 

The former Kawempe Muslim Skipper went to America for further studies at South Western Oklahoma State University in August 2016 where he acquired a bachelor’s degree in Engineering.


She is Arguably the best of her generation. A ball player, industrious , eye for the goal and team work spirit is what defines her.

Nabweteme is a two time Fufa Women Elite League topscorer and the 2015 Fufa women footballer of the year with Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.

She has signed alongside Miranda Smith and Colleen Kennedy.

The former Kampala kids player ,joins other Uganda female players who ply their trade in Europe like Natasha Shirazi( Spain), Viola Bambi and Ritah Kivumbi( Sweden).

Thor/Ka is an Icelandic women’s football team based in Akureyri. It competes in Urvalsdeild Kvema league. It was founded in 1999.

Nabweteme becomes the first Ugandan female football player to join any team in Iceland.
