Ssimbwa hails URA’s first round away performance

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club coach Sam Ssimbwa has hailed his team’s away form in the first round of the 2020/2021 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

URA have played eight (8) of their fifteen (15) games away from home and have lost none.

The tax collectors have won seven and drawn just once on the road, garnering 22 points out the possible 24.

“I appreciate the away form we’ve displayed because we’ve drawn only one (Mbarara City FC) and won the rest (7). It’s a commendable job done by the team,” Ssimbwa told club media on Tuesday.

URA concluded their first stanza of the league with a comfortable 0-3 victory over Onduparaka in Arua on Match day 15.

“We’ve played well. This has been our biggest away win this season scoring three and conceding none,” the coach said after the game.

Steven Mukwala, the man on fire, scored twice while Cromwel Rwothomio netted the other.

With 36 points at the top of table, Ssimbwa and his boys have had a fair tale of the first part of the season. They have won eleven (11) out of the 15 games and a goal difference of 15.

In second, are reigning champions Vipers who have managed to collect 33 points followed by Express FC on 32.

After losing 1-0 to Vipers on Tuesday, former winners KCCA went into the league break lying 4th with 27 points just two above Police and new commers UPDF FC.
