Fahad Bayo strikes again, Onyango back to form: Here’s an update on Ugandan players abroad

On Saturday Ugandan players abroad were in action at their respective clubs and below is how they fared.

In lsreal Ligat ha’Al, Uganda Cranes striker Fahad Bayo scored his 6th goal of the season in the league. The former Vipers SC forward needed just 12 minutes to register his name on the scoresheet as his side FC Ashdod drew 2-2 with Hapoel Haifa. Fellow countryman, Timothy Awany however didn’t take part in the game due to an ankle injury. According to his club, the defender will be out of action for 3 weeks.


In South Africa, Uganda Cranes skipper Denis Onyango was in goal Mamelodi Sundowns claimed a 2-1 win away at Stellenbosch in the DStv Premier League.

Goalkeeper Ismeal Watenga was on the bench as Chippa United fc claimed a 2-1 win at home against Richards Bay in Nedbank cup.

In England, Forward Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru started the game and was replaced in the 86th minute while Jordan Obita wasn’t on the match day squad as their Wycombe Wanderers claimed a 1-0 win at home against Preston in English Championship.

Elvis Bwomono featured for 90 minutes as his Southend United drew 0-0 with Stevenage in English league two.

In Czech Republic , Isaac Muleme was introduced in the 69th minute as his Zizkov claimed a 2-1 win away at Vysehrad in division 2.

Edrisa Lubega wasn’t on the match day squad as his Pribram lost 5-0 away at Ostrava in division 1.

In Algeria, Allan Okello didn’t make it on the 18 man squad as his Paradou claimed a 2-1 win away at Hussein Dey .

In Vietnam , Moses Oloya played the entire game as his Hanoi fc claimed a 2-0 win over Joseph Mpande’s Hai Phong. Joseph Mpande wasn’t named on the match day squad.

In Egypt, Abdul Lumala’s Pyramids fc claimed a 4-1 win over Shabana Al Obour in the Egyptian Cup. Lumala wasn’t on the match day squad due to an injury.
