UPL: Express in buoyant mood ahead of KCCA visit

Express FC host KCCA FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Wednesday in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

The Red Eagles have been improving day by day and will be looking to continue their good form while the Kasasiro boys are in poor form having lost their last three consecutive league games.


Express currently sits in the 4th place on the table with 3 points above KCCA who are placed 7th.

KCCA FC travel to Wankulukuku following a line of identical 2-1 defeats against URA, SC Villa and BUL while Express head into the game after a 1-0 win away at URA FC. The victory followed a 1-1 draw against Champions Vipers at the venue where the 13 time league winners will be hosted.

Express’ great run of form has seen them go 6 games unbeaten in the league.

” We have prepared well for this game .Going into this game, we tried to correct our mistakes we had in our last game against URA FC where we failed to be clinical in front of goal yet we had many chances.I know this time we shall score goals against KCCA . KCCA FC is a good team but we are prepared to fight and maintain our unbeaten run but most importantly get the maximum points.

KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi:

“We go in this game with Express FC having advantage over us because they are in good form but we are also ready to fight and pick up maximum points. Currently Five of my starting players are on National duty but the remaining players have to utilize this chance and perform.We have injured players but we have enough squad to complete the task ahead of us.

Expres will rely on their in form striker George Senkaaba, Murushid Jjuko, Eric Kambale and Godfrey Lwesibawa while KCCA will bank on the services their topscorer Brian Aheebwa, Keziron Kizito, Ashraf Mugume and Kigozi Samson.

The hosts have no injuries while the visitors have injured players like Gift Ali, Julius Poloto, and Denis Iguma.
