Nabirye raising high Uganda’s flag in Kenya

Ugandan Joan Anita Nabirye played an integral part in Vihiga Queens’ 3-0 victory over Kusumu All Starlets on Sunday in the Kenya Women Premier League. This was their fifth win of the season.

The former Gafford Ladies FC Midfielder featured for 78 minutes and grabbed an assist for the first goal which was scored by striker Teresa Engesha

After the impressive performance, Sta Daily News sought her out for a virtual interview.

” Am happy for the win and the assist.Am generally happy for the team’s performance.I hope performances like this continue coming my way,” Nabirye said.

Nabirye asserts that she has been made to put in extra effort to catch up with the competition at her new home.

” The league here is very competitive and requires alot of hard work..I pray that I keep in good shape and perform well to help my team and keep my career rising.

Vihiga Queens are currently the table leaders of Kenya women premier league Zone b with 16 points from 6 games.They are unbeaten with 5 wins and 1 draw.

Next Sunday, the Queens take on rivals Trans-Nzoia falcons.
