Mali has become the first country to qualify for the 2020 Chan final after beating neighbours Guinea 5-4 on penalties.
This is after the game had ended 0-0 after extra time. Substitute Mamadou Coulibaly scored Mali’s fifth to end Guinea’s hopes at the Japoma Stadium in Douala.
This followed a miss by Sylli National playmaker Morlaye Sylla who saw his kick being saved by the goalkeeper. Thus, Coulibaly ensured that Mali converted all their kicks to book their place in the final.
The second finalist will be known later in evening when hosts Cameroon and title holders Morocco meet at the Limbe Stadium.
Mali will take on the winner of the Morocco and Cameroon match in the final at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Sunday.
Guinea will play the loser of the Morocco and Cameroon match in the third-place playoff at the Reunification Stadium in Douala on Saturday
