Militon Karisa scored a 70th minute goal for the Uganda Cranes as they drew 1-1 with the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon in a Pre- Chan game played at stade Ahmadou Ahdjo stadium on Friday.
The Cranes played over 77 minutes with a man less after Police FC forward, Ben Ocen was shown a straight red card early in the game.
A Banga Bienvenve’s goal after 12 minutes had seen the Cranes trail for the bigger part of the game before the Vipers SC striker drew matters level.
Coach Jonathan Mcknistry made one change before the end of first half as Karim Watambala paved way for Bul FC’s Joseph Ssemujju in 33′.
In the second half, Joakim Ojera paved way for Vianney Sekajugo, Bobosi Byaruhanga came in for team captain Tonny Mawejje while Shaban Muhammed replaced fellow Venom and goal scorer Milton Karisa.
Meanwhile, Cameroon was too reduced to ten added minutes of the game when Abouri Basile was sent off.
The Uganda Cranes return to action on January 4 against Zambia, a side handled by their former coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic.
Apart from Uganda, Cameroon and Zambia, Niger is the other team taking part in the 4 Nations min tournament hosted by Cameroon who are also the hosts of the 6th edition of Chan.
In Chan, Uganda is in Group C with cup holders Morocco, perennial rivals Rwanda and Togo.
