Uganda Cranes Chan team has kicked off preparations for the tournament that will be held in Cameroon next year.
As part of the preparations, Uganda will take part in a four-team mini tournament scheduled to run from 1st – 7th January 2021 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The other countries in the tournament are hosts Cameroon, Zambia and Niger.
The players Sunday evening entered residential camp at the Cranes Paradise Hotel-Kisaasi.
They started the preparation program with a classroom session on Monday afternoon.
On Tuesday morning, the squad embarked on double training sessions under the watchful eye of coach Johnathan McKinstry and his technical team.
The training is being conducted at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo and is expected to run up to December 26, 2020 before winding up with a practice match the following day.
According to a program released by Fufa, the team will travel to Cameroon on Monday 28th December 2020.
According to McKinstry, the players are much more confident and excited to get started.
“All the players have reported to camp. We have been able to conduct an early introductory session where we outlined the objectives of the training camp and the tournament itself. We have generally set the goals and our expectations for players on and off the field,” McKinstry told Fufa Media on Monday.
He added; “We feel everybody is very confident and excited to get started since the majority of players will be featuring for the first time at the final tournament.”
