Uganda U-20 National Team -The Hippos showed class as they beat holders and hosts Tanzania 4-1 in the final of the 2020 CECAFA U-20 Challenge Cup played at the Black Rhino Academy sports center in Karatu on Wednesday, 2nd December 2020.

Richard Basangwa, Steven Sserwadda, Ivan Bogere and Kenneth Semakula scored the four goals that saw coach Morley Byekwaso become the first man to win the championship.

Selemani Hamis got the only goal for the home side who had won the tournament in 2019 after overcoming Kenya 1-0 on Ugandan soil at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

Both Uganda and Tanzania earned tickets to next year’s Afcon Under-20 final in Mauritania.

Earlier, South Sudan defeated Kenya 2-1 to finish third in the tournament.
