FUFA appoints new U-20 coach

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA ) has appointed KCCA FC assistant manager Morley Byekwaso as the head coach for the Uganda Hippos (U-20).

According to a statement released by FUFA, Byekwaso will be deputised by former Uganda Cranes right back and URA FC assistant coach Simeon Masaba.

Others on the technical team are Kiggundu Stephen Billy (Goalkeeping Coach) andLule Micheal (Team Physician).


The team’s task is to prepare the Hippos for the AFCON Zonal Qualifiers for CECAFA Region.

The CECAFA (Central East Zone Qualifiers) will determine the teams that make it to the AFCON U20 Finals in Mauritania next year.

The Uganda U20 was drawn in group B alongside Burundi, Eritrea and South Sudan.

Tanzania  will host the tournament from November 22 to December 6,  2020.

FUFA said the appointments take immediate effect and will last for a period of six months.
