The Inspector General of Police Martin’s Okoth Ochola has made authorities within the force have referred to as administrative changes.

In the changes effected on October 22, 2020, he transferred embattled Mityana district police Commander over the weekend saga where teargas was fired to disperse Mbogo clan meeting at Mugulu.

Bob Kagarura, the Wamala Regional Police Commander where Mityana falls has been transferred to Bukedi North whereas the Mityana District Police Commander, Alex Mwine Mukono has been sent to Hoima.

The changes came a  few hours after police administration apologized to both the Catholic Church and Buganda kingdom over Saturday incident.

On October 17, Police raided and dispersed with teargas the Mbogo clan members who had gathered for a thanks giving service for their leader Gajuule Kayira Kasibante in Mugulu, Mityana district.

In the same vein, Superintendent of Police, Martin Okoyo has been transferred from Hoima  and has been appointed the new DPC for Mityana.
