The Confederation of African Volleyball Board (CAVB), the volleyball governing body on the continent announced the dates and venues for the 2020 African Age Group Nations Championships.

Uganda will host the Women’s U20 Nations Championships between December 4 and 13, 2020, CAVB has confirmed.

Egypt will host the Men’s U21 between 18th and 26 February 2021.

Meanwhile, Nigeria were nominated by CAVB to organise the 2020 Girls U18 African Nations Championship  from January 29 to 7th February 2021, while Tunisia will host the Boys U19 category  between February1 and 6, 2021.

Due to the ongoing global covid-19 pandemic and the impact it has had in the organisation of the 2020 scheduled FIVB Qualification Tournaments including the Continental 2020 Age Group Competitions, FIVB has extended the deadline for continental qualifiers for the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Age Group World Championships to 28 February 2021.

Before the country went under lock down due to Covid-19 in March, Uganda had hosted the CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Cup 2020, Group D in Entebbe and also the Ndejje university Volleyball Open.

However due to the Nationwide partial closure, the national league could not go on as earlier planned by UVF and it’s not yet clear when  the game will resume in the country given the strict conditions issued by the government.
