The FUFA Dispute Resolution Chamber ordered new Vipers SC recruit Disan Galiwango to pay Uganda shillings twenty five million to his former club Express FC.
Part of the money, the Chamber said is 15 million the player received from Express in November 2019. “The player, Dissan Galiwango is ordered to refund the UGX 15,000,000
(Fifteen million shilling only) he received from Express FC in November
2019,” says part of the ruling.
In a ruling dated September 1, 2020, the former Express captain has also been found guilty of breaching a pre-contract obligation and has been ordered to compensate Express FC with Uganda shillings ten (10) million.
” Dissan Galiwango is ordered to pay compensation for breach of his
obligations vis-à-vis the club, Express FC under the preliminary contract /
Pre-contract in the amount of UGX 10,000,000 (Ten million shillings only).”
The Chamber said Dissan Galiwango shall not be issued a player’s licence until the total
amount of UGX 25,000,000 (Twenty five million shillings only) is fully paid
to Express FC.
Express FC’s only responsibility is to avail the account number on which the amounts shall be
deposited, the judicial body further directed.
Early July, Vipers SC unveiled Galiwango as their first signing on a four year contract.
However, uncertainty of who legally owned the left back continued as Express maintained Galiwango was still under contract at the Wankulukuku side.
